Mining Machinery Configuration for Basaltic Crushing
Basaltic is such an extremely hard stone highly containing silicon that it requires highly for the crusher's abrasion resistant.
Among those configurations for stone crushing, the laminating crushing scheme (double-stage jaw crusher) shall be the first choice. If it is required strictly for the finished product's particle shape, adding an impact crusher in the crushing line is ok. Just as follows:
Feeding trough——Feeder——Coarse jaw crusher——Fine jaw crusher——Impact crusher——Vibrating screen——Finished product
This scheme adopts three-stage crushing with coarse jaw crusher, fine jaw crusher and impact crusher. In this way, the required quantity and price is increased a little. However, the later period production cost is declined greatly.
The following is a wrong configuration scheme:
It is understandable that every customer wants to invest less money at the beginning of the project. So some manufactures might suggest a scheme whose cost is low in the earlier stage.

Feeder——Coarse jaw crusher——Impact crusher——Vibrating screen.
Compared with the first scheme, the second scheme lacks of fine jaw crusher. In this way, the impact crusher will bear more pressure and the impact crusher’s plate hammer will be abraded seriously. So it is obvious that the plate hammer shall be changed frequently. The plat hammer is made of high-chromium whose unit price is about 2462 USD/Ton. Frequent changing is a big cost for the user. So some users may said, "The profit for the crushed stones in one month are used for changing the plate hammer".
