Indonesia's Coal Production Breaks Through 0.3 Billon Tons
According to Bisnis Indonesia, by October of 2011, Indonesia's annual coal production in this year has broken through 0.3 Billon Tons. Bom Kamandanu , chairman of Indonesia Coal Mining Association (APBI-ICMA)) says, based on the current speed, by the end of this year, Indonesia's coal production output is estimated to be 0.34 billion tons-0.35 billion tons.
Bom says, according to the 0.28 billion tons coal export index of this year, most coal will be exported. The rest 60 million tons will be supplied for domestic market. With the constant entrance of new investment and the expansion capacity of the existing company, it is estimated by the Indonesia Coal Mining Association that, the coal production will reach 0.37 billion next year, with 0.29 billion tons for exporting and 80 million tons for domestic market.
Indonesia Coal Mining Association predicts that, coal price will be between $115 and $120 per ton next year. That price is lower than the current price $125 per tone. However, as long as the coal price keeps above $110 per ton, the coal trade will still have huge attraction.
Bom thinks that, the current economy crisis in Europe and America will only affect the fist six-months next year, and the coal demand will rise in the second half year of 2012. He doesn't worry about the influence of the slowdown of China's economy speed to Indonesia's coal export, for China's coal demand is smaller than that of India, Korea and Japan.
